Pearls is a full-size replica of the Mutable Instruments Beads granular processor, using the same circuit and firmware with identical functionality.
Beads records incoming audio into a buffer and plays it back as overlapping grains. Grains are generated by an internal clock, by an external trigger, or manually with the SEED button. Grain time, size, shape and pitch each have a dedicated control with CV input and attenuverter. The FREEZE button stops recording and holds the buffer contents. The output section has feedback, dry/wet and reverb controls, with automatic input gain.
Four quality settings change the sample rate, bit depth and channel count of the buffer, trading buffer length for fidelity. With no input patched, the module runs as a wavetable oscillator.
