CV SCAN is a 1 to 4 or 4 to 1 CV router that allows you to route one cv signal to four different destinations or route four different CV sources to one CV input. This can be done manually or via CV. Additionally the routing can be interrupted via the OFF switch or with the help of a gate signal. Each CV input/output has a dedicated attenuator. There is also a variable 0V to +10V CV supply.
The SCAN potentiometer can be used to scan through the different CV sources/destinations. Turning from left to right you will individually activate inputs/outputs A to D after one another. Additionally turning that knob will supply 0 to +10V on the V OUT jack. This allows you to scan through A to D and also change a CV input of another module in accordance to the potentiometer position. RANGE adjusts the inputs and outputs that can be activated with the SCAN knob or the CV input. Applying -5V to +5V in mid position will give you the full range. Turning RANGE counterclockwise causes only A and B to be active. Turning RANGE clockwise will move the activation range from A/B, A/B/C, B/C, B/C/D and C/D. This gives you a nice control over the range to be scanned.
The attenuators may lower the signal that is routed through CV SCAN. Please note that they are not able to completely kill the signal in order to keep the module bi-directional. CV SCAN was mainly designed to handle CV sources. Still it is also helpful to change waveforms of an oscillator for example. This should be done off the mix as there might be small clicks audible when changing sources/destinations.
